It's hard to believe that I'm 38 weeks pregnant. Mike and I were talking last night, and it seems that I sometimes forget that at the end of this, there will be a new little person in our family. I've been so wrapped up in being pregnant, working, and nesting that it seems at times like nothing is really changing. I'm just going about life as usual, focusing all my attention on tying up loose ends and getting my "to do" lists done. Well, they're about done now, and I'm starting to have more time to think about raising a son. We were talking the other night about everything we'll get to teach him. I told Mike, he won't even know what football is until we teach him about it. That's hard to imagine considering football has pretty much been our life! With our due date just 2 weeks away, he could really come at any time. What a scary and exciting thought! I guess it's best not to dwell on the labor and delivery because I could really make myself a nervous wreck.
I'm definately becoming more uncomfortable by the day. My hands and feet are constantly swollen and my back has shooting pains with every step I take, but I know the end of pregnancy is near and I will make it. It takes me about 5 minutes to work up the momentum to roll out of bed each morning and I'm sure it's quite a sight to behold! Sometimes I get a helpful shove from Mike if I wake him up. I'll never get used to the feeling of our little boy wiggling around in my belly-it's simply amazing. I laugh every time he moves! He has estabilshed a little wake-sleep schedule that I could almost set my watch by. I hope he likes schedules as much after he's born. I just can't wait to kiss his little face and tiny feet! We're hoping it will be sooner than later!

He's Not Going Anywhere Anytime Soon!!
Hey y'all!! Here's the latest update on the pregnancy. I went to the doctor this morning.
Dr. Saujani checked me and said Landon's still very high and I'm still not dilated any. In fact, he's so high she didn't know if he was even still head down because she couldn't feel his little head. So, being the awesome doctor she is, she walked me down the hall and did a quick little ultrasound herself! He is, in fact, head down (thank God!!!), and he's facing my spine (which he should be). If he were "sunny side up", it means more back labor for me. We watched him breathe for a bit and she said he gets and 8 out of 8 for respirations, whatever that means. I'm just glad it's good. There is plenty of amniotic fluid around him and the placenta looks fine. She said it looks like we have a "40 weeker", which means she doesn't anticipate him coming early. She told me to walk as much as possible to get him to descend. She also said that if our due date (June 12th ) comes and goes, she will let us pick a date the following week (week of June 16th) for induction. I'm sure we'll pick a day she was scheduled to be at the hospital. I go back next Thursday June 5th in the morning. Until then, we'll be walkin'!

37 WEEKS and Counting!
As of today, I'm 37 weeks pregnant. We took this picture this evening. Mike and I had a great day today. We had what I'm calling our "summer vacation". He didn't have any finals today and by a series of random events, I only had 2 patients to see and was home by 11am. So, we decided to go to Buford to the Mall of Georgia. We had so much fun! We got lunch, shopped, got chair massages from these people in the middle of the mall, and saw the latest film in the Chronicles of Narnia series, Prince Caspian. I liked the movie, but it does have lots of battle scenes which aren't my favorite. Then, we had a great dinner at one of our favorite italian restaurants called Provino's. It was a great day! We did have to walk speedily back to the car when leaving the mall because it was raining. I had to do a fast waddle, which really cracks Mike up! I have to really get my arms pumping to get the rest of me moving quicker! After all of walking and sitting with my feet hanging down, I'm sad to say I seem to have misplaced my ankles! They look so puffy! They go great with my hands, though! Our plans for the long holiday weekend are to finish my "to do" list of things I MUST get done before our little bundle arrives. We are scheduled to return to the doctor next Tuesday morning and we'll see if anything is changing. At my appointment last week, the baby was high, and I wasn't dilated at all. Hopefully we'll get some better news this week. I'll keep everyone posted!

Baby Room Preparation (from Dad's perspective)
The biggest event in the Riddle house since the extended celebration of the UK football victory over LSU has been the preparation of the baby room. While it was a cooperative effort from all family members, our "fuzzy son" would sometimes get distracted when he felt the need to climb into boxes or take a nap under the crib (once it was assembled). While I'll openly concede that Brandee and her mother did most of the work, I am making a strong claim for 3rd place ahead of Bailey who sometimes struggles with motivation.
